I've been through a lot in life.
None of which I care to talk about.
One thing I know is, having a personal experience with Jesus Christ can and will heal whatever your hurt. There are plenty of excuses for people not to believe or not to want to. Everything from the hypocrites to why would God do this or that or the Bible is this or that. Whatever I've heard all kinds. I use to give all kinds myself.
First and foremost I follow Jesus Christ, not anyone else from any church or religion. Sure there are hypocrites (actors). They are not my problem or yours.
Second a nice little sinners prayer will not save your soul from hell. Sorry!
Third if you don't believe me try this.
Pick a place, any place. Pick a time, any time (now).
Search from your heart for Jesus.
You're open minded right.
Are you open minded about Jesus.
Why not?
You don't have to use words. You can.

Search for Him. Find out for yourself.

I met Jesus in a way only I could meat Him.
It was special. It was real in a way no one could have explained, nor can I.
I can say this. It wasn't like anything I could have imagined.
I was changed. It was real.

There is more to life than trying to fill a void or erase a pain.
There is more to Jesus than just a symbol or religion.
There is more.

Follow your heart
for your heart longs for Him
ask for Him and you will recieve
